With his mantra, “Need a bed? Talk to Ned!”, brand character ‘Ned’ is the face of Hotelsinone, Ireland’s newest online hotel reservations site. Based in Cork city, Hotelsinone is the brainchild of Pat O’Neill and Eamon Fennelly who share more than 25 years hotel industry experience in revenue and sales & marketing. O’Neill’s previous roles include European Pricing Coordinator for Starwood Hotels Europe, Area Revenue Manager for Starwood Hotels for the Middle East and Group Revenue Manager for Choice Hotels in Ireland. Fennelly joined Hotelsinone from Choice Hotels where he was part of the team that developed the Comfort and Quality brands.
Working together in Choice Hotels, O’Neill and Fennelly saw first-hand the rise of hotel bookings via the internet but noted there was an “anonymity” amongst many of the hotel reservation sites which were expedient in their offering and offered little warmth or emotional connection to their brand.
Understanding the importance of branding, O’Neill and Fennelly saw a gap in the market to establish a strong brand to facilitate hotel bookings in Ireland. www.hotelsinone.ie has its sights set on becoming the most visible and obvious choice for people when looking for a hotel stay in Ireland.
The hotelsinone character, Ned, fronts the brand and drives all activities; he has the inside track on the most up-to-date special rates, seasonal offers, group bookings etc. He’s even joined social networking site Facebook under his full name, Ned Needabed! and has similar postings on YouTube

There is no sign-up or annual fee and hotelsinone charges a mere 10% commission rate. Moreover, there is no charge for premium packages as hotelsinone’s listings are not sequence sold. Participating hotels get their own username and password and can upload new deals as often as they wish.
Unlike many of its competitors that only sell rooms, Hotelsinone coordinates and promotes tailor-made “gems” like pampering packages, concert packages, special group bookings, Spring offers and three-nights-for-two deals, amongst others.
